​Labeling Requirements from NFPA 70E 130.5(H) ®   (NFPA 70E, 2024)

(C) Equipment Labeling. Electrical equipment such as switchboards, panelboards, industrial control panels, meter socket enclosures, and motor control centers that are in other than dwelling units, and are likely to require examination, adjustment, servicing, or maintenance while energized, shall be field marked with a label containing all the following information:

(1)  Nominal system voltage.    
(2)  Arc flash boundary
(3)  At least one of the following:
      a. Available incident energy and the corresponding working distance (analysis method).
      b. Minimum arc rating of clothing.
      c. Site-Specific level of PPE.

IR Thermography

Infrared Thermography is a powerful form of non-destructive testing (NDT) widely used in predictive maintenance programs. All equipment operating under Condition 1 or 2 should be tested at intervals not exceeding 12 months.

Routine infrared inspections of energized electrical systems should be performed annually prior to shutdown. More frequent infrared inspections, for example, quarterly or semi-annually, should be performed where warranted by loss experience, installation of new electrical equipment, or changes in environmental, operational, or load conditions.

Megger Testing

Testing the integrity of wire insulation is normally needed after a fire, flood or certain new installations in order to determine that the wiring is safe for energization. Inspecting authorities and utility companies may require proof of satisfactory insulation resistance measurements in order to activate a service. We provide Megger Testing for wiring possibly damaged by fire or flood to determine if it is either acceptable “as is” or “must be replaced”. Tests are done according to published standards to determine “PASS” or “FAIL”.
